PSYCHIC VIGNETTE #3 - Skeptic Acquitted
Dated: March 28th, 2011
Police officers are some of the most difficult people to persuade about the feasibility of psychic phenomenon. While in police academy in the 1970’s Phil was able to convert some skeptics to believers. Several weeks into the academy the sergeant in charge of the program quietly approached Phil about his signet ring that was missing. Phil’s response was immediate and precise “You will find it on the floor behind a light green drape and when you find it there will be a straight pin stuck down through the middle of it.” The sergeant appeared puzzled and somewhat confused. The next day the sergeant came into the class and told Phil he had found his ring exactly where he had said it would be which was behind light green drapes in the living room and piercing through the center of the ring was a straight pin. This was just has Phil had seen in an instantaneous act of remote viewing.
The final week of police academy was dedicated to firearms training on the firearms range. The final day, qualifications where held in the morning and a picnic to close out the many weeks of study was held at the range. One of the recruits and his friend brought their ATV’s for added pleasure. Phil’s desk mate in academy decided he wanted to take a ride on the three wheeled ATV. As he mounted the ATV Phil had a premonition and warned him not to go on the ATV as he felt there would be an accident with injuries. The fellow officer assured Phil he would be ok and that Phil just worried too much about things. The young man went to the end of the range and up a hill out of sight. After about 20 minutes, Phil’s nervous anticipation regarding his friends return caused him to inquire as to why his friend was gone so long. The music from the picnic made it impossible to hear any noises outside the area of the event. So Phil walked to the end of the range in the direction his friend was last seen. As he got away from the sound of the picnic and to the external sounds of the environment around him Phil could hear his friend yelling for help. Soon all the officers were headed in the direction of the missing recruit. On the hill out of sight they found the young recruit underneath the ATV struggling to get out. His leg was broken in several places. Phil road in the ambulance with the recruit, who unfortunately should have listened, leaving the rest of the officers that had heard the warning in dismay, converting them from skeptics to believers.
